QCU Launches Sustainable Campus Initiative

QCU has launched its Sustainable Campus Initiative, a comprehensive program aimed at reducing the university's environmental footprint and promoting ecological awareness among students and staff. The initiative includes solar panel installations, rainwater harvesting systems, and a campus-wide waste segregation program.

The university has partnered with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and several environmental organizations to implement the program. Key features include a 200kW solar panel array on the gymnasium roof, electric vehicle charging stations, and a vertical garden system on campus buildings.

"As an educational institution, we have a responsibility to lead by example in environmental stewardship," said Dr. Maria Santos. "This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainability and our dedication to creating a greener future for generations to come."

Students will also participate in environmental awareness campaigns and tree-planting activities as part of their community engagement requirements.
